Undergraduate Degrees Admission Requirements
- A pass in English Language at Cambridge School Certificate/ ‘O’ Level or equivalent
- Passes in two (2) subjects at ‘A’ Level and two (2) subjects at Advanced Subsidiary/Subsidiary Level at the Higher School Certificate Examination;
- Passes in three (3) subjects at ‘A’ Level and one (1) subject at Advanced Subsidiary/Subsidiary Level at the Higher School Certificate (HSC) Examination;
- Passes in three (3) subjects at ‘A’ Level at the London General Certificate Examination (GCE).
- Qualifications awarded by other Universities and Institutions, which have been approved by the Senate, as satisfying the minimum requirements for admission.
- Examples of qualifications deemed equivalent to HSC and GCE ‘A’ Levels are:
- SC + Diploma pitched at Level 6 in the National Qualifications Framework of the Mauritius Qualifications Authority;
- SC + Foundation Course awarded by a recognised Higher Education Institution;
- SC + Pre-University Certificate;
- IGCSE + Foundation Programme or equivalent awarded by a recognised Higher Education Institution;
- National Senior Certificate from African countries;
- South African Senior Certificate;
- Italian Diploma for Final Year of secondary education (Diploma di esame di stato);
- Grade 12 Certificates/ Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent from India;
- University Examination Entrance from China;
- French Diplôme National du Brevet;
- West African Senior School Certificate;
- Australian Senior Certificates of Education; and
- Grade 12 Certificates/High School Certificate from other countries.
- Examples of qualifications deemed equivalent to HSC and GCE ‘A’ Levels are:
- The French Baccalauréat.
- Relevant subjects/ combinations of related subjects included in any Diploma of the University of Mauritius or in any technical qualifications, as may be approved by the Senate as being equivalent or comparable to an ‘O’ Level or ‘A’ Level may be accepted in lieu of corresponding subjects prescribed in (i) above.
- The IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate (IB).
- Grade 12 Certificates/High School Certificate from other countries.
Postgraduate Degrees Admission Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in Agriculture or related fields or equivalent qualifications acceptable to the University of Mauritius with at least a Second Class or a CPA ≥50%, whichever is applicable or a GPA not less than 2.5 out of 4 or equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution OR alternative qualifications acceptable to the University of Mauritius.
- An undergraduate degree in Aquaculture, Agriculture, Applied Biochemistry, Food Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Marine Science, Environmental Science or equivalent qualifications acceptable to the University of Mauritius with at least a Second Class or a CPA ≥50%, whichever is applicable or a GPA not less than 2.5 out of 4 or equivalent, from a recognised higher education institution OR alternative qualifications acceptable to the University of Mauritius.

University of Mauritius Scholarship
Scholarships:
MAURITIUS AFRICA SCHOLARSHIP (MASS)
The Government of Mauritius awards scholarships to deserving students who are resident citizens of member states of the African Union or African Commonwealth countries.
The Scholarship will support successful candidates in meeting their tuition fees and in contributing to their living expenses during their studies in Mauritius. Furthermore, the scholarship covers a return airfare by the most economical route. This will be valid for travel from the country of origin at the beginning of the studies and back to the country of origin upon successful completion of studies.
