Master’s Degree Admission Requirements :

Bachelor’s degree or professional title, in any of the disciplines of Social Sciences, such as: Social Work, Anthropology, Sociology, Education, etc.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree or Professional Title in another discipline complementary to the Master’s Degree (Heritage or Social Intervention); either by their resume or by the characteristics of the applicant’s professional practice.
  • Possess an adequate score in the pre-selection interview.

Doctorate Degree Admission Requirements:

  • Appear for a personal interview with the Postgraduate Program Committee (CPP) either in person, by videoconference or another modality previously agreed upon with the applicant (for applicants from other regions or abroad).
  • For the selection process, applicants must present the following documents to the Postgraduate Directorate within the deadlines established in the calls:
  • Application for admission written in Spanish or English and addressed to the director of the Program, indicating the area/line of research of interest, current activity and financing possibilities.

University of Magallanes Scholarship

Outstanding Athlete Scholarship

It is the benefit that the University of Magallanes assigns to Outstanding Athletes, understood as those who currently develop high-performance sports activity, reflected in their successes at a regional, national and/or international level.

Requirements:

  • Be outstanding in your sports specialty at a regional, national and/or international level, considering your performance as of January of the year of application.
  • Present a sports resume, which must come with all the evidence, which must be certified by the National Sports Institute (IND), federations or the competent sports authority. These background information will be presented to the DAE and verified by the Sports and Physical Activity Unit.
  • By 2024, apply in the sports of karate, judo, weightlifting, athletics, chess, artistic gymnastics, futsal, volleyball, basketball, rugby, taekwondo and swimming.
  • Be sponsored by the coach(s) of the sports specialty that you are interested in developing at the University.
  • Have an age compatible with the development of the discipline.
  • Belong to the sports club associated with the University, this is with a current agreement.
  • Pass the physical-tactical entrance tests that will be carried out in the month of March of each year, and that certify good sporting performance for each discipline.

The person selected with a scholarship will have to participate for their discipline and represent the University.

Renewal:

The scholarship recipient must request renewal of the benefit and pass at least 50% of the subjects enrolled in the first year and 60% of the subjects enrolled for higher courses; approve technical report in relation to the sports training and physical preparation plans of their specialty and participation in events or championships, in which their intervention has been requested.

Study Scholarship for Students with Cultural Merit (Tariff Scholarship)

It is the benefit that the University of Magallanes assigns to its students with cultural merit, consisting of total or partial financing of the annual tuition fee for courses. A student with cultural merit is defined as a student who has achieved recognition at a regional, national and/or international level in artistic expressions, understood as the priority disciplines that are defined annually with the extension area of ​​the Vice-Rector for Links with the Environment. : choir, theater, speech, music conservatory (singing and playing instruments), folklore (participation in the UMAG folklore group).

Requirements:

  • Submit a resume that accredits a background that supports this quality of excellence, presenting at least two certificates from accredited teachers in the artistic area to which you are applying. These backgrounds will be verified by the Directorate of Student Affairs.
  • Having participated in activities related to the area the previous year and/or having represented the University.

Renewal:

The scholarship recipient must request renewal of the benefit and pass 60% of the subjects enrolled in the first year and 70% of the subjects enrolled in higher courses.

Food Scholarship

It consists of the delivery of lunch from Monday to Saturday at the University Casino, aimed at students from locations outside Punta Arenas.

Requirements:
