UNIVERSITÉ ALIOUNE DIOP DE BAMBEY
The University of Bambey is the heiress of the Regional University Center (CUR) of Bambey, the creation of which dates back to 2004 (cf. decree 2004-916 relating to “creation and organization of a CUR in Bambey”), even though the lessons In the end, they only got started there in 2007. According to the very terms retained at the end of the seminar on the university map (30-31 October 2002), the missions of the CUR are “to prepare learners for university training (…) and to provide professional training” , by contributing “to the establishment of conditions for the qualification of citizens through continuing education” and by ensuring “to enhance and develop the assets (economic, cultural and social…) at the level of the implantation site and neighboring areas”. In the decree 2004-916, it is also stipulated that “the CUR is a decentralized establishment of general and professional university training of short duration meeting the requirements of local development”, which therefore distinguishes it from traditional universities.
Since 2009, the CUR of Bambey has been transformed into a full-fledged university, following the promulgation of decree 2009-1221, on the “creation, organization and functioning of the University of Bambey.

UNIVERSITÉ ALIOUNE DIOP DE BAMBEY Admission
To be admitted to the Alioune DIOP University of Bambey, Senegalese baccalaureate holders compile a file at the level of their establishments. It is the school of origin that submits the applications to the Department of Higher Education, which in turn sends them to the University of Bambey. Internally, the Guidance Committee makes the selection based on the profiles and results of the candidates, but also with regard to the places available.
Baccalaureate holders of foreign origin:
For reasons of authentication of diplomas, baccalaureate holders coming from abroad submit their files through their embassy or consulate, and then through the Department of Higher Education.
Professionals :
All professionals, Senegalese or foreigners interested in advanced and innovative training at the University of Bambey, can submit a file to the Education Department located in Bambey or to the Resource Center of the University of Bambey in Dakar (Villa3 VDN Mermoz Pyrotechnie – Tel: 33 860 64 67 33 860 64 68 – BP: 16 617 Dakar Fann Senegal) if the desired training is offered by said center.
