Universidad del Norte is an autonomous entity, under private law, created on May 27, 1991 by Decree of the Executive Branch No. 9689 in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 828/80 on Universities. Thirty years after its foundation, the Universidad del Norte has been recognized by a large number of the most qualified national and international intellectual personalities as the new ethical and academic paradigm of Paraguayan higher education.Â
True to its motto of “Quality, Science and Culture”, the Universidad del Norte, today the largest university contributor to the Social Welfare Institute, has reached heights and achieved goals never before achieved by higher education institutions in Paraguay.

Admission for Degree Courses
Who can apply for admission?
The following are the conditions for requesting the admission of a student to the University:
For Paraguayan students:
- Have completed, approved and obtained the title of National Baccalaureate or the equivalent abroad.
- Submit the National Baccalaureate degree or equivalent abroad; original of the certificate of studies, both endorsed and legalized by the Ministry of Education and Sciences of the Republic of Paraguay.
- Present a copy of the Identity card.
For foreign students:
- Correctly fill out the admission application, which will be addressed to the Admission Board of the Universidad del Norte. The Admission Board is made up of: the members of the Superior University Council, the Dean of the Faculty to which it applies, the Director of the Career in the corresponding case. The decision of the Admission Board is final.
- Present the title equivalent to that of the National High School and certificate of studies, in two copies, duly authenticated by the Ministry of Education of the country of origin or equivalent, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of origin and of the national, and by the Ministry of Education and Sciences of the Republic of Paraguay.
- People who wish to enroll and do not come from a Spanish-speaking country must take an exam before the Admission Board in order to demonstrate sufficient command of the Spanish language (speaking, reading and writing).
- Submit an authenticated copy of the Country of Origin with the Student visa granted by the Republic of Paraguay.
- Present a copy of the Identity card.

Who can apply for admission?
The following are the conditions for requesting the admission of a student to the University:
For Paraguayan students:
- Submit a copy of the degree certificate duly legalized by the Ministry of Education and Sciences, including the Nautilus system decal.
- A copy of the certificate of studies duly authenticated by a public notary.
- A copy of updated ID and authenticated by public notary.
For foreign students:
- Submit a copy of the degree certificate duly legalized by the Ministry of Education and Sciences, including the Nautilus system decal.
- A copy of the certificate of studies duly authenticated by the Paraguayan public notary.
* In the event that the document is in a language other than Spanish, its translation will be required with the corresponding authentications.
- Present a copy of the identity document authenticated by the Paraguayan public notary.
- Copy of the migration card duly authenticated by the Paraguayan notary public.
