Technická univerzita vo Zvolene
The Technical University in Zvolen (hereafter referred to as “TU”) proudly claims to be one of the first technical higher education institutions in the world, the origins of which are connected with the establishment of the Mining Academy in Banská Štiavnica in 1762, where the teaching of forestry disciplines began in 1770. The creation of the Forestry Institute in Banská Štiavnica in 1807 created the first independent higher education in forestry in Slovakia. The Mining Academy, since 1846 the Mining and Forestry Academy, changed its name to the University of Mining and Forestry in 1904 and thus became the only university of its kind in Austria-Hungary. It disappeared in 1919.
In the field of research, it fulfills its mission by solving research projects and programs of a national and international nature in seven areas of research: agricultural and forestry sciences, engineering and technology, environmental science and ecology, engineering, economics and management, security services, art; as well as in other related and application areas.

Admission of students to study programs at the Technical University in Zvolen is based on the fulfillment of the basic conditions for admission to study in accordance with § 56, par. (1) of Act no. 131/2002 Coll. on universities as amended.
Each faculty can determine additional conditions for admission to study individual study programs in order to ensure that applicants with the necessary skills and prerequisites are admitted to the study.
