Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Admission Requirements

The Bachiller Inicia UC programs for Admission 2024 are:

  • Bachelor in Natural Sciences and Mathematics(50 vacancies)

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters).

  • Degree in social sciences(50 vacancies)

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters).

Those who successfully complete the two years of the program will receive the academic degree of Bachelor and will be able to continue their studies in one of the UC careers that offer available vacancies.

Important:  The careers not mentioned

At UC you will find support from the moment you enter. All students of the University – regardless of their entry route (Centralized Admission, Equity Admission, Special and Complementary Admission) – will be able to access academic leveling to support their insertion into the university world. New students will be able to take diagnostic tests and take courses to standardize mastery of fundamental content for each career.

Those who enter through the Equity Admission routes also have a special support and monitoring program, which considers insertion instances, tutoring from the Inclusion Directorate, and other supports with students and professionals who accompany the first stage of university life.

General requirements

  1. Have graduated from high school the current year or the previous year (2022-2023 graduation).
  2. Come from a municipal, subsidized private or delegated administration establishment.
  3. Have valid higher education entrance tests for the 2024 admission process (PAES 2022, PAES winter 2023 and/or PAES 2023).
  4. Take or have taken the Higher Education Access Tests (PAES) required for the courses you wish to apply for and obtain the minimum application score published for this route.
  5. Not having completed previous university studies in Chile or abroad.

Read and carefully follow the instructions on the Manual for Applicants. These instructions indicate the documents in greater detail, clarify doubts and indicate how to use the Documentation Upload Platform.

  1. Simple declaration, indicating not having completed university level studies in Chile or abroad.Download the Simple Declaration format.
  2. Photocopy or photograph of the applicant’s identity card (front only).
  3. Concentration of secondary school grades. Those who graduate this year (2023) must upload their annual certificate of studies from I to III degree (You can obtain it at the Mineduc Help Portal). In this case, a single file  with the concentration of grades for each school year must be uploaded to the platform.

Requirements

  • Average grade for UC graduates or graduates equal to or greater than four (4.0).
  • Average grades for graduates or graduates from other universities equal to or greater than four point five tenths (4.5).
  • Politic science: For this degree, it is required to prove a PAES Average Score between Reading Competence and Mathematical Competence equal to or greater than 650 points.

Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Admission Requirements for International Students

The Bachiller Inicia UC programs for Admission 2024 are:

  • Bachelor in Natural Sciences and Mathematics(50 vacancies)

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters).

  • Degree in social sciences(50 vacancies)

Duration: 2 years (4 semesters).

Those who successfully complete the two years of the program will receive the academic degree of Bachelor and will be able to continue their studies in one of the UC careers that offer available vacancies.

At UC you will find support from the moment you enter. All students of the University – regardless of their entry route (Centralized Admission, Equity Admission, Special and Complementary Admission) – will be able to access academic leveling to support their insertion into the university world. New students will be able to take diagnostic tests and take courses to standardize mastery of fundamental content for each career.

General requirements

  1. Have graduated from high school the current year or the previous year (2022-2023 graduation).

Concentration of secondary school grades. Those who graduate this year (2023) must upload their annual certificate of studies from I to III degree (You can obtain it at the Mineduc Help Portal). In this case, a single file  with the concentration of grades for each school year must be uploaded to the platform.

Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Scholarship
