Unless they have completed a minimum of three years of study at a school where English is the language of instruction, international students whose first language is not English must submit proof of English language proficiency:  

  • IELTS – 6.0, with no individual score lower than 5.5   
  • TOEFL (IBT) – 80, with no individual score lower than 18   
  • Duolinguo – minimum score of 90 with no subject test score less than 90   
  • Cambridge English – minimum score of 169   
  • CAEL – minimum score of 60   
  • Pearson Test of English – minimum score of 55   
  • MELAB – minimum score of 80

Oulton College Scholarship Application

The Government of Nunavut recognizes academic excellence of Nunavut residents. The following scholarships are awarded to FANS recipients who are enrolled as a full-time student. Students must submit their transcripts to the FANS office for assessment. Scholarship awards are in the form of direct deposit.

Scholarships are not awarded until the the fall term following the academic year in which the student qualified for a scholarship. You must be receiving FANS support to receive a scholarship.

Grade 12 Scholarships – $500

If you graduated from a Nunavut secondary school and have an 80% or higher average in Grade 12 you are eligible for a $500 scholarship.

Undergraduate Scholarship – $750

If you received an “A” average in any of the undergraduate degree years, you are eligible for a $750 scholarship at the end of each year. In your final year of the undergraduate degree if you are continuing on to a Master’s degree, you will be eligible for $1000 instead of $750. You must be a Nunavut resident for the period of study in which this scholarship applies.
