Admission Requirements

The minimum requirements needed for students applying for admission to a certificate or diploma program at Pures College of Technology are:

  • Proof of academic standing equivalent to the Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma (OSSD)

English Language Proficiency Requirement

Applicants whose first language is not English are expected to demonstrate proficiency in both spoken and written English by providing proof of completion of one of the following:

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma & English Credit (Grade 12 U,M or C) issued from a secondary school in Ontario
  • IELTS: overall score of 6.5 must be achieved for Early Childhood Education program; overall score of 6.5 must be achieved for Supply Chain Management program, no band less than 6.5; overall score of 6.0 must be achieved for other programs
  • TOEFL: A score of 500 paper or 70-IBT
  • CAEL: Minimum overall score of 56

Language Proficiency Test Exemptions

International students may be exempted from the TOEFL / IELTS requirements in the following situations:Students who have completed a minimum of two years full-time secondary or college level education in one of the countries where English is an official or the only language of common usage (check with the College to see if your country qualifies for the ESL exemption).Students who are present in Canada at the time of application, and successfully complete a written and oral test on campus, and achieve a passing score in the entrance test for the program that they are applying for.
