The development of Nile University (NU) (https://www.nileuniversity.edu.ng/) dates to 1999, when a group of community leaders foresaw the need to establish a leading-edge non-profit university dedicated to the advancement of higher education and applied research in selected sectors of strategic importance to the economy. Egypt suffers from a growing shortage of technically capable and well-qualified personnel, who are educated and trained to understand the needs of industry in a dynamically changing global marketplace. Enhancing the nation’s technological resources, particularly in high skilled areas, is critical to the country’s goal of sustainable economic growth.

Nile University Required Documents

For Undergraduates:IG Requirements

  • Business school: Minimum of 8 O-Level subjects including English and Math with minimum score C.
  • Biotechnology school: Minimum of 8 O-Level subjects including English, Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology with minimum score C.
  • Engineering and Computer Science school:  Minimum of 8 O-Level subjects including English, Math, Physics and Chemistry with minimum score C and one subject only AS or AL (Should be Math) with minimum score D.

American Diploma Requirements

  • Business School: 8 subjects from GPA certificate including English and Math, along with EST 1 with a minimum score of 800.
  • Biotechnology school: 8 subjects from GPA certificate including English, Math, Physics, Chemistry and Biology along with EST 1 with a minimum score of 800
  • Engineering and Computer Science school: 8 subjects from GPA certificate including English, Math, Physics and Chemistry, along with EST 1 with a minimum score of 800 and EST 2 with a minimum score of 900.

Thanawya Amma Certificate

  • Business School: The school accepts the 3 general secondary “Thanwya Amma” tracks: Literary “Adabi”, Science“Olum” and Science/Mathematics “Reyada”. 
  • Biotechnology: The school accepts students who took the Scientific “Olum” general secondary track.
  • Engineering: The school accepts students who took the Mathematics “Reyada” secondary track.
  • Computer Science: The school accepts the 2 general secondary tracks: Science “Olum” and Mathematics“Reyada”. 

For Postgraduates:

1- Master Application Checklist:

  • Original of all Bachelor Certificates.
  • Original of all university-level transcripts.
  • Original Equivalent Certificate (for private university graduates only).
  • Personal statement.
  • Recent Resume (CV).
  • Copy of National ID or Passport.
  • Four recent passport-size photographs.
  • Three recommendation letters.

For English:

  1. A score of 61 or above in IBT (AMIDEAST).
  2. A score of 500 or above in ITP (Institutional TOEFL) administered by AMIDEAST.    
  3. A score of 6 or above in IELTS administered by the British Council.

N.B:

For M.Sc. MOT: IB TOEFL 79.00 and above with 24 and above for writing or IELTS 6.50 and above with 6.50 and above for writing.  

2- Ph.D. Application Checklist:

  • Original of Master degree certificate.
  • Original of Master degree transcript.
  • Original of all university-level degrees (Bachelor).
  • Original of all university transcripts (Bachelor).
  • Original Equivalent Certificate for both Bachelor and Master degrees if from private universities or universities outside Egypt.
  • Personal Statement.
  • Recent Resume (CV).
  • Copy of National ID or Passport.
  • Four recent passport-size photographs.
  • Three recommendation letters.

For English:

  1. A score of 61 or above in IBT (AMIDEAST).
  2. A score of 500 or above in ITP (Institutional TOEFL) administered by AMIDEAST.                                                        
  3. A score of 6 or above in IELTS administered by the British Council.

N.B:

​For the Ph.D. MOT: IB TOEFL from 94 and above, with 27 and above for writing, or IELTS from 7.50 and above with 7.00 and above for writing. 

Nile University Admission

  • A completed online application form.
  • The official final high school transcript (stamped) – Thanawya Amma, or the IGCSE Certificates stamped by The British Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and General Examinations Department – if the school is inside of Egypt; however, if the school is outside of Egypt, the certificates must be stamped by The British Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  • As for students who have an American Diploma GPA Certificate (Grades 10, 11 & 12), the certificate must be stamped by the American Diploma Accreditation Associates and General Educational Examination الادارة العامة للامتحان) ) and EST 1 & EST II must be stamped by the General Examination Department.
  • A computerized birth certificate.
  • The original preparatory certificate “ “شهادة الاعدادية المصرية for grades 10,11 and 12 or proof of 12 years of schooling.
  • For students who studied outside of Egypt, they should submit a Movement Certificate (شهادة تحركات).
  • If Arabic and Religion are taken, they must be stamped by the General Examinations Department.
  • Ministry form 2 and 6, males only “Istmara 2 and 6 Gond.”
  • Copy of national ID or passport for Egyptians.
  • Copy of passport for non-Egyptians.
  • Application fee: 1000 LE (non-refundable).
  • 6 passport-size photos.
  • English proficiency test:
    • A score of 61 or above in the IBT (Internet-based TOEFL).
    • A score of 6 or above in the IELTS taken at the British Council.
    • A score of B1 or above in the Oxford exam (no retakes for this exam).
  • Note that the Architecture program requires the following:
    An English II level in IELTS and IBT exam or an interview from the program director after passing the Oxford exam will be required.
  • In addition to the above, “transferred students” will also need: 

• Original withdrawal letter (for private universities only).

• Course description signed and stamped from the previous university.

• Transcript stamped from the University and the Supreme Council of Universities.

• “Bayan Hala” ( بيان حالة)  stamped from your previous university.
