Maritime College of Forest Technology Admission Requirements
Admission Requirements:
All applicants must be a high school graduate or possess a General Education Development Certificate (GED), and submit all transcripts. Applicants must also submit two (2) letters of reference from a non-family member, and pay a $50 application fee to Loretta Phillips at (506) 458-0643.Â
Minimum grade is 65 % in each required course.
International applicants will be evaluated on an individual basis. Admission requirements for MCFT will be that of the standards set for Canadian provinces.
All entrance requirements for MCFT are based on University/College preparation courses. Provincial course name, levels and codes may differ from those that are deemed requirements by MCFT, in such a case appropriate actions regarding entrance requirements will be taken to correct any discrepancies.
This program may employ a competitive average for admission purposes; meeting minimum posted requirements does not guarantee admission.
Forest and Fish & Wildlife Technology Diploma: If applicants plan to apply to F&W during their second year at MCFT, a Grade 11 academic level Chemistry credit is required to be considered for admissions.Â

Maritime College of Forest Technology Admission Requirements for International Students
Admission Requirements:
Applicants whose native language is not English require the following English language proficiency minimum scores for direct entry into most academic programs:
- TOEFL IBT with a minimum overall score of 90
- IELTS or IELTS Indicator with a minimum overall score of 6.5, with no individual test score below 5.5
- CAEL CE or CAEL Online with a minimum overall score of 60
- Cambridge English Assessment C1 advanced or C2 180 overall and no lower than 170 in each band
- Duolingo with a minimum overall score of 115
- Michigan English Test (formerly MELAB)– 55
Pearson Test of English – Academic 61 overall and no lower than 50 in each skill
Language skills to succeed
If your first language is not English, you may be required to provide proof of English language proficiency.
You may not be required to give proof of English language proficiency if:
- you studied at an English language institution for at least three years at the secondary level, or
- you studied at an English language institution for at least one year at the post-secondary level.

An international applicant is not required to submit proof of English Language proficiency if:
