Mahajanga University
The University of Mahajanga is a public institution of higher education located in Mahajanga, a port city on the northwest coast of Madagascar.
The CUR or Regional University Center of Mahajanga was created in 1977 with a single course: the School of Dental Surgery (ESCD). Two courses: Natural Sciences and Medicine were opened in 1982 and the Direction of the CUR was assigned to Professor ANDRIANJATOVO Raharisoa Jeannette from 1977 to 1978 then to Doctor George RAOELINA in 1978, finally to Professor RAJABO at the beginning of 1988.
In 2002, a Ministerial text establishing the organization and operation of Universities and Higher Education Establishments was decreed, in which are listed the bodies making up the structure to be put in place, and mentioning that the universities must carry out an election of a President by universal suffrage.
