JSS ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH, MAURITIUS

A. General Rules and Regulations
       A student admitted to the JSSAHERM shall:

  • Have attained the age of 16 years on the date of the start of the academic year in which he is admitted
  • Meet both the general and specific admission requirements of the JSSAHER, Mauritius and of the programme in which he/she is admitted respectively.
  • Overseas candidates whose first language is not English and who do not hold a degree or equivalent professional qualification taught in English will be required to produce evidence of their competence in English.

B. Admission to programme of study at undergraduate level (certificate/diploma/ degree)

  • Candidates must be:

           Either Pass in:

              3 Subjects at A-level and 1 subject at subsidiary level of Higher School Certificate Examination;

           OR Pass in :

              2 Subjects at A-level and 2 subjects at subsidiary level of Higher School Certificate Examination;

           OR Pass in :

              3 Subjects at A-level at the London Certificate Examination or equivalent;

  • The specific minimum requirements for admission to individual programmes leading to the award of a certificate/diploma/under graduate degree are provided under programme requirements
  • The Academic Council may require an applicant to sit for a special entrance examination for admission
  • Foreign students may be admitted with a minimum of 2 A- Level or equivalent.

C. Admission to Master’s Programmes

  • The general minimum entry requirement for a Master’s programme is second class degree or a post graduate diploma or equivalent
  • Specific requirements for admission to individual programmes leading to the award of a Master’s degree are provided under programme
  • The Academic Council may require an applicant to sit for a special entrance examination for admission

Exemptions

No module exemption shall be entertained at Undergraduate and Master’s level.

IOWA WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY, USA

A. Undergraduate Programmes

B. Graduate Programmes

General AdmissionConditional Admission
An individual who plans to pursue a graduate degree must have an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited US institution (or international equivalent) with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.00 scale) or the equivalent thereof.Applicants may be admitted to graduate programs on a conditional basis, upon recommendation by the division chair and approval by the Committee for Academic Standards and Review.
Conditional admission is subject to review after two 8-week terms at Iowa Wesleyan University during which a minimum GPA of 3.0 in each term is required to continue in the graduate program.

Mauritian Students

A relevant Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field from a recognized university.
