Undergraduate Degree Admission Requirements

GUC accepts high school graduates holding the Egyptian General Secondary School Certificate (Al-Thanaweya Al-Amma), the German Secondary School Certificate (Abitur), the British Secondary School Certificates (GCSE, IGCSE), the American High School Diploma, the French Secondary School Certificate, the International Baccalaureate and other Equivalent Certificates accredited by the Supreme Council of Egyptian Universities and other concerned authorities.

Our decision for admission goes beyond any numerical formula or grade. In addition to the primary criterion of academic excellence, we look for students with high potentialities who can display a high degree of intellectual energy and creativity. GUC philosophy is to build on the points of strength in students. This will be reflected in the evaluation process of applicants in which the admission decision is not only dependent on the , but also on:

1. The points of strength of students in subjects, where students show intellectual capabilities, as qualifying subjects for studying in the areas of their interest such as Engineering, Biological Science, Management or Applied Sciences and Arts as mentioned below.
2. GUC Admission Evaluation includes:
   1. English Language Test
   2. Reasoning Test

Graduate (Master’s) Degree Admission Requirements

Admission Seasons:

Application online will be available throughout the year for 3 intakes:

• Winter Semester Intake: Semester starts in September/October (deadline of online application end of July)
• Spring Semester Intake: Semester starts in January/February (deadline of online application end of December)
• Summer Semester Intake: Semester starts in June/July (deadline of online application end of May)

Requirements:

• BSc Degree from a recognized University
• A minimum overall grade ‘Good’ or overall ‘C’ , that is maximum cumulative GPA 3 (German system)
• English Language Proficiency measured through GUC admission English test or TOEFL Score of minimum 500

Admission Steps:

1. Filling application form online
   • For Non GUC Graduates who has no GUC application number
     1. Click Create new account
     2. You will receive an email with the user name and password
     3. Fill in the application form using the new username and password
   • For GUC Graduates who already has GUC application number (GUC undergraduate ID no.)
2. Pre-screening of applicantsAn Admission committee from each faculty will be responsible to
   1. Check his/her eligibility for the master/PhD degree
   2. Recommend the courses that he/she should study to fulfill the master program requirements.
3. Eligible candidates will be Invited for English admission test
4. Candidates who pass the English test will be invited to personal interview
5. Candidates who pass will receive conditional acceptance including documents to be submitted and payment procedures
6. Candidates who pass the English test will receive conditional acceptance including documents to be submitted and payment procedures.
7. The applicant is to submit the documents and pay the fees within the deadline otherwise registration will not be considered.

GUC Scholarship and Excellence Award Programs for New Entrants Include: 

Program 1: The National Top Ranked Thanaweya Amma Students’ Scholarship: for the National top ranked Al-Thanaweya Al-Amma students

Program 2: The Thanaweya Amma and Equivalent Certificates Scholarship: for the top ranked Thanaweya Amma and  foreign equivalent certificates holders (IGCSE, Abitur , American Diploma)

Program 3: The Nile Basin Scholarship: Scholarships for students from the African countries students’ located on the Nile Basin – in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Program 4: Egyptian Governorates Top Ranked Students’ Scholarship: 54 Scholarships to top ranked Egyptian students from public schools from the 27 different governorates to study in one of the GUC’s different disciplines.

Program 5: Syrian Refugees Scholarship Program for Masters Degree: 10 scholarship opportunities to young Syrians, currently residing in Egypt registered as refugees through the UNHCR to study a two-year Master Program in the fields of Engineering or Management Technology.

GUC offers scholarships for outstanding performance top ranked enrolled students from each study module. The number of the scholarship is determined by the rank of student, semester and study module student belongs to.

Scholarships for Sport Achievements

GUC provides a scholarship program to distinguished sport achievements at international levels.

Students receiving scholarships will maintain their scholarship so long as their overall GPA is less than 3.00 (C)
