Transfer credit is credit earned at other accredited colleges and universities, which are transferable to Atlantis College. All courses are evaluated individually, based on the College’s standards and the student’s grades.
The general philosophy governing transfer credits is that a student’s knowledge, no matter how it was gained, can be considered as long as it is relevant and can be documented. Thus, credits may be transferred to the student’s record from a variety of sources. Where the credits duplicate, credits will transfer from only one (1) source.
Transfer credits may correspond to specific Atlantis College courses. In all cases, they appear on the student’s transcript with the suffix “TR”
Regardless of the credits transferred, students must complete a minimum of 60 ECTS for the Diploma and 120 ECTS for the Bachelor degree. Evaluation of transferred credits may vary based on the individual cases and depending on the completed academic courses, presented to the Academic Affairs Office.
A transcript is required. Course descriptions, syllabi and textbooks used may be required to determine the subject covered. Courses are normally evaluated individually. In some cases, validation may be required in the form of oral or written examination. The Director of Academic Affairs carries out this evaluation in consultation with the Programme Coordinator.
Atlantis College will also accept formal evaluations by the World Education Service or other authorized evaluation services for work
completed at colleges and universities around the world. Transfer of students to the College from other institutions of tertiary education in Cyprus or from abroad should take place before or during the first month start of the course.
1) Each transfer student shall submit to the College an official statement for all the transcribed credits obtained in tertiary
education previously or the scores attained from tests in other schools.
ii) The Academic Committee after considering the above documents will decide on the transfer of the student to the school and informs the student prior to the transfer, referring to the credits allowed for transfer, and or the level of study which will be acceptable to the course.
iii) For all the above, additionally, the relevant circulars relating to transfers of foreign students, drawn from both the Ministry of
Education and the Immigration Officer must be adhered too.
Credit by Exchange (Erasmus)
The College will award credits to students who study abroad for one semester under the LLP/ERASMUS + programme. The study period is an integral part of the student’s programme of study and full academic recognition is given as decided in the Learning Agreement.
