Academic Calendar: Spring semester (January – April); Summer semester (May-August); Fall semester (September-December)

Undergraduate Program Requirements:

1. For EEE/ IPE/ COE/ Architecture/ B.Science (CSE): 

1. A total GPA of 5.00 with a minimum GPA of 2.50 in Science background.   Math must be included at HSC level.  
2. Minimum GPA 2.5 in O Levels with no grade lower than ‘D’ among best 5 subjects and  Minimum GPA 2.0 in A’ level. Math must be included at A’ level  (in 2 Subjects)   with grade not lower than D.  (Scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1).  
3. For EEE/ IPE/ COE/ Architecture: Only 1 E grade is acceptable combining the best 5 subjects in ‘O’ and best 2 subjects in A level (Except Math and Physics).
4. High School Diploma/International Baccalaureate with minimum grade B in Math. 
5. GED result will not be accepted. 

2. For Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA): 

1. A total GPA of 5.00 with a minimum GPA of 2.50.  
2. Minimum GPA 2.5 in O Levels with no grade lower than ‘D’ among best 5 subjects and  Minimum GPA 2.0 in A’ level  in 2 Subjects .  (Scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1).  
3. Only 1 E grade is acceptable combining the best 5 subjects in ‘O’ and best 2 subjects in A level.

3. For Arts & Social Science (BA in English or MMC/ BSS in Economics/ LLB ):  

1. A total GPA of 5.00 with a minimum GPA of 2.50. 
2. Minimum GPA 2.5 in O Levels with no grade lower than ‘D’ among best 5 subjects and  Minimum GPA 2.0 in A’ level  in 2 Subjects .  (Scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2 & E=1).

1. Attested Photocopy of all Board Mark Sheets and Certificates/Testimonial. 
2. Three copies of Recent Formal Colored & Clear Passport Sized Photographs. 
3. A’ Level 2021 Appeared candidates are required to submit attested photocopy of A2 Statement of Entry and Mark Sheets of their A’S LEVEL Exam (with cash in code). 
4. HSC 2021 Appeared candidates are required to submit Appeared Certificate, attested photocopies of HSC Admit Card & Registration Card. 
5. Applicants in Freedom Fighter category are requested to submit attested photocopy of  (i) “Provisional Certificate” from Ministry of Liberation war affairs. (ii) Mukti Barta (iii) Gazette  (iv) “National ID” of the freedom fighter/Birth Certificate/ Any official paper with date of birth / Death Certificate of the Freedom Fighter (v) Freedom Fighter Number [for Online Verification at https://molwa.gov.bd/].  

Graduate Program Requirements:

• Requirements for Regular MBA /MDS/ MsCS / M.TEL/ MEEE:
  • Minimum 3 Years of Bachelor Degree completion is required.
  • Minimum 2nd division in SSC, HSC & Graduation from any of the disciplines or minimum GPA 2.5 in HSC & SSC (in the scale of 5) and minimum CGPA 2.5 in Bachelor Degree (in the scale of 4).
  • For A Level & O Level Background, Minimum GPA 2.5 in O Levels & GPA 2.0 in A Levels separately with no grade lower than‘D’among best 5 subjects in O’level and best 2 subjects in A’ level.(Scale:A=5,B=4,C=3,D=2 &E=1).
  • Additional Requirements for MsCS: 4 Years Graduation degrees is required in CS, CSE, CIS,SE, CSSE, EEE, COE, ECE, MIS, Electronics, Mathematics, Physics, or in any other science or Technical disciplines (To be decided by Prog. Director).
  • Additional Requirements for MTEL/ MEEE: 4 Years Graduation degrees is required in EEE, COE, ECE, ETE, CS, CSE, CIS, SE, CSSE, App. Physics & Electronics, ICT, ICE, APEE, APECE or in any other science or Technical disciplines (decided by Prog.Director).
• Requirements for EMBA:
  • Graduation in any dicipline with minimum 2nd Divisio n.
  • At least 3 years working experience with current permanent job (case to case basis) in an office .
• Requirements For MDS:
  • Graduation in any  discipline with Minimum CGPA 2.5 or 2nd class is required in Bachelor Degree .
• Requirements For MPH:
  • Graduation in any discipline of Health Science.
  • Graduation in any discipline with work experience in Health Care Organization.
  • Posses an M.B.B.S., B.D.S., M.D. or a 3-4 years Bachelor degree or any other equivalent degree.
  • No 3rd division (Exception may be made for candidates with substantial amount of experience).
• Requirements For Regular LLM:
  • Minimum 3 Years of Bachelors Degree – LLB (hon) completion is required.

American International University Bangladesh Scholarship

In order to receive Academic Scholarship/Grant from the university a student must fulfill the following requirements.

• Merit Based Scholarship for Freshman Student
  The applicant must have:
  • – GPA 5.00 (Golden) or GPA 5.00 in SSC and HSC
  • – (Five) ‘A’ in O-Level (at a time) and 2 (two) ‘A’ in A-Level (at a time) ; no grade lower than ‘B’
    An applicant fulfilling all the above criterion must sit for a Scholarship Exam and has to pass with Satisfactory Grade (the Acceptable Passing Grade may vary from time to time and will be decided by the authority) in order to be a recipient of academic Scholarship/Grant. The number of recipients may vary from time to time and the Award of Scholarship depends on the availability of slots.
• Academic Scholarship for Regular Student
  The applicant:
  • must have completed two (2) regular semesters (Spring or Fall)
  • must have applied only in a regular semester
  • must be a Regular Full Time Student
  • must have a CGPA of 3.75 or above with no ‘Fail’ (F), no ‘Incomplete’ (I), no ‘Withdrawn’ (W), no ‘Unofficial Withdrawn’ (UW) grade, or no Retake of course(s)
  • must not have grade lower than ‘B’ [undergraduate program] / ‘B+’ [graduate program] in any academic period
  • must have an attendance of more than 80% at all times.
  • The number of recipients may vary from time to time and the Award of Scholarship depends on the availability of slots.
• Scholarship Grant for National Talent recipients of this Grant are selected by the AIUB Administration.
  Note: However, the decision to extend scholarship to any individual student remains at the Complete Discretion of the university authority.
• Renewal of Grant
  Recipient of any of the Academic Scholarship/Grant or Tuition Fee Waiver mentioned above has to comply with the underlying rules consistently. The student:
  • must be enrolled in all academic courses during the preceding and subsequent semesters
  • must not have any disciplinary record
  • must have a CGPA of 3.75 or above with no ‘Fail’ (F), no ‘Incomplete’ (I), no ‘Withdrawn’ (W), no ‘Unofficial Withdrawn’ (UW) grade, or no Retake of course(s)
  • must not have grade lower than ‘B’ [undergraduate program] / ‘B+’ [graduate program] in any academic period

  • Note: In case a student is eligible of more than one scholarship/ discount, only one scholarship/ discount will be applicable; whichever is higher.
