Entry Requirements
Following are the entry qualifications of the Master of Education degree program.
- (a) A Bachelor of Education (Hons.) Degree from a recognized University/ Higher Educational Institute
- OR (b) A Bachelor of Education Degree from a recognized University/ Higher Educational Institute with minimum of two years of experience in the field of Education
- OR (c) Bachelor’s Degree with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from a recognized University/Higher Educational Institute with minimum of two years of experience in the field of Education,
- OR (d) A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/ Higher Educational Institute with minimum of five years of experience in the field of Education
- OR (e) A Master of Education Degree (SLQF 9) from a recognized University/ Higher Education Institute
- OR (f) Any other qualification equivalent to Degree (SLQF 5 or above), not listed under (a), (b), (c), (d) or (e) but may be considered case by case and acceptable to the Board of Study and the Academic Senate of Horizon Campus with minimum of five years of experience in the field of Education.
- The course will be conducted in English, Sinhala and Tamil media. The candidates will be selected through a process of interview.
The teaching methodologies consist of activity-based learning methods where face-to-face contact sessions are the main mode of teaching together with blended learning approaches. This includes andragogical learning methods, individualized learning and discovery methods while distant learning is facilitated through a sophisticated Learning Management System (LMS) backed by online learning platforms when required.
