Grodno State University (GrGU) (Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno) was founded in 1978 on the basis of the Yanka Kupala Pedagogical Institute. The Decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR on the organization of the Grodno State University was adopted on June 24, 1977. The first university enrollment was carried out in September 1978. A.V. Bodakov.
The opening in the late 70s of the first university in Western Belarus reflected the achievement by the republic of a fairly high level of economic and cultural development. The scientific and technological revolution raised the question of training highly qualified personnel for high-tech industries and teachers for mass schools, capable of organizing training that meets new requirements.
The sovereign Republic of Belarus is over 25 years old. And every year it becomes more and more beautiful. The Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno is no exception, which, despite its long and rich history, keeps pace with the times, follows new trends and changes every year.

-Relevant previous education

For Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens:
1) Fulfil the application for admission in accordance with the established form;
2) Present the following documents:
• educational document with all the subjects and marks received at the examinations;
• medical conclusion about the state of his or her health, the results of the AIDS analyses and fluorography test results, given by an official organization of the country from which an applicant comes (Medical certificates are valid for up to 6 months);
• conclusion of the medical consultative commission issued by the territorial health organization of the Republic of Belarus;
• birth certificate copy, certified in accordance with the established procedure
• 12 photographs (size 3×4).
3) All the documents issued in foreign language, their legalization or apostille must be accompanied by their translation into Russian. All the documents’ translations except passport translation must be verified by the notary and presented together with the originals.
4) Conclude the agreement on educational services
5) Pay your school fee within the period indicated in the agreement.
6) Present your receipt to the Recruiting and Registration of International Citizens Department
For Bachelor’s degree course:
1) Fulfil the application for admission in accordance with the established by the Ministry of Education form;
2) Present the following documents:
• Original of education documents with indication of all the subjects and marks received at the examinations;
• Conclusion of the medical consultative commission issued by the territorial health organization of the Republic of Belarus;
• Medical conclusion about the state of his or her health, the results of the AIDS analyses and fluorography test, given by an official organization of the country from which an applicant comes (Medical certificates are valid for up to 6 months);
• Birth certificate (original or copy)
• Certificate of graduation from Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens (if there is any)
3) All the documents issued in foreign language, their legalization or apostille must be accompanied by their translation into Russian. All the documents’ translations except passport translation must be verified by the notary and presented together with the originals.
4) Pass the interview on the language of study and additional examination in the field of study.
5) Conclude the agreement on educational services
6) Pay your school fee within the period indicated in the agreement.
For Master’s degree course:
1) Fulfil the application for admission in accordance with the established by the Ministry of Education form;
2) Present the following documents:
• original of the bachelor’s degree certificate with supplement, issued in the Republic of Belarus or educational document with indication of subjects and hours, received marks, issued abroad and certificate of recognition of educational document issued abroad and confirmation of its equivalence to the bachelor’s degree certificate in the Republic of Belarus.
• conclusion of the medical consultative commission issued by the territorial health organization of the Republic of Belarus;
• medical conclusion about the state of his or her health, the results of the AIDS analyses and fluorography test, given by an official organization of the country from which an applicant comes (Medical certificates are valid for up to 6 months);
• passport copy certified in accordance to the established order.
• 4 photographs (size 3×4).
3) All the documents issued in foreign language, their legalization or apostille must be accompanied by their translation into Russian. All the documents’ translations except passport translation must be verified by the notary and presented together with the originals.
4) Pass the interview on the language of study and additional examination in the field of study.

NOTE! International citizens from some countries need to send their national certificates of education to recognition and equivalency bodies in the Republic of Belarus. Experts will establish whether the current degree is sufficient to apply for the chosen programme. In this case you will need to apply to the Republic Institute of Higher Education (ENIC of Belarus), which can provide this service.

Discount is provided for foreign student successfully graduated from the Preparatory Department of the University (min. training period is 4,5 months) in 2020/2021 academic year. The discount is provided upon the conclusion of the agreement for study and tuition fee payment (training in Russian) *

Discount is provided to the citizens of full member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States after admission and payment are performed by international student (training in Russian)
