Women’s University in Africa
Women’s University in Africa – WUA is a private institution that was co-founded by two visionaries Professor Hope Cynthia Sadza, a former Public Service Commissioner and Dr Fay King Chung the former Minister of Education in Zimbabwe. It was established in 2002 and granted a Charter by the Government of Zimbabwe in 2004, (Statutory Instrument 130 of 2004).
It is currently operating from its head office located at 549 Arcturus Road, Manresa Park, Harare. It has satellite campuses in Bulawayo, Marondera, Kadoma and Mutare in Zimbabwe and an Open Distance Learning programme for students in Malawi and Zambia.

Women’s University in Africa Admission
- Applicants above the age of 40 years may be admitted into diploma and undergraduate degree programmes through the Accredited Prior Learning selection criteria.
- Foundation Mathematics will be offered to those without Mathematics at ‘O’ level intending to pursue programmes that require the subject as a prerequisite.
- Programmes with inadequate successful applicants may not commence.
- WUA has campuses in Harare, Mutare, Bulawayo, Marondera and Kadoma.
- The University has enrolled students from countries that include Zambia, Malawi, South Africa, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Nigeria.
- The modes of blended learning are as follows: Weekdays; Weekends; Block release; and e-learning.
- Closing date for applications is 30 January 2023
HOW TO APPLY
Application forms can be obtained from the University upon payment of a non-refundable application fee of US$25 (at Foreign exchange rate) for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes for Zimbabwean applicants, US$65 (at Foreign exchange rate) for PhD programme applications and US$65 for international applicants. The application fee may be reviewed from time to time. Alternatively, application forms may be downloaded from the WUA website: www.wua.ac.zw and submitted with proof of payment of the application fee. The application should then be submitted together with certified copies of a national ID card, birth certificate and educational certificates.
