Univerza v Novem mestu
The University of Novo mesto was established in 2018 and consists of four faculties. Scientific research activity at the University is carried out at four institutes for scientific research activity of each faculty. In December 2019, we also established the UNM Institute for Scientific Research to conduct interdisciplinary scientific research activities.
There are approximately 35 researchers working at the University’s member institutes who publish high-quality, internationally recognised scientific papers. Read more about the researchers and their publications here.
Scientific research is conducted at the University and provision is made for the development of the profession in the fields of nursing, physiotherapy, economics and business administration, engineering/technical sciences, computer and information sciences, and the environment.

Univerza v Novem mestu Admission
At the University of Novo mesto we embrace internationality and warmly welcome exchange students for a semester or an entire academic year. All of our faculties offer a number of different courses, listed below. We dedicate ourselves to each student individually, which guarantees that you can get full advantage of the time you spend with us.

After selection, the application process at the University of Novo mesto begins:
1. Your home university should nominate you to the international office of the University of Novo mesto by sending an email to: international.office@uni-nm.si with student’s name, gender, area of study, mobility period (autumn or spring semester or both) and students’ e- mail contact, otherwise your application won’t be accepted.
2. After your home university has nominated you to study at the University of Novo mesto as an exchange student, you should fill in an online application form. There is no need to send a paper copy of the application.
3. At the end of the on-line application you will have to upload the necessary documents:
- Learning Agreement;
- Motivational Letter;
- Copy of your ID card or Passport;
- Copy of the European Health Insurance Card of private health insurance;
- Transcripts of Records in English language.
Your application is complete and will be processed only after you have followed all the steps of the application system and entered all the required information. All uploaded documents need to be in PDF format.
4. After you have completed your application and your host department has approved your application, we will send you an Acceptance letter and Information on living and studying in Novo mesto.
Before mobility, a Learning Agreement must be confirmed and signed by the home institution, host institution and student.
