University of Tripoli (القاطع أ جامعة طرابلس)
The University of Tripoli (UOT), is the largest university in Libya and is located in the capital Tripoli. It was founded in 1957 as a branch of University of Libya before it was divided in 1973 to become what is now known as the University of Tripoli. Faculty of Arts and Education in Benghazi. In 1957, the Faculty of Science was established, the first nucleus of the University of Tripoli. In 1966 the College of Agriculture was established, and in 1961 the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) created the College of Higher Technical Studies, which was joined to the Libyan University in 1967 under the name of the College of Engineering. In 1973, the Libyan University was separated into the universities of Benghazi and Tripoli. In 1976, its name was changed to Al-Fateh University
