University of the Philippines Manila Admission Requirements

Incoming Freshmen:

  1. UPCAT Performance: Prospective freshmen are admitted based on their performance in the UP College Admissions Test (UPCAT). This test assesses their readiness for university-level education.
  2. Weighted Average in High School: The weighted average of grades obtained by applicants in the first three years of high school is also considered during the admissions process.
  3. Choice of UP Campus and Quota: Applicants should indicate their preferred UP campus and specific course/college/unit. The admission is subject to the quota set for specific courses/colleges/units by the respective Deans.

PEPT Certificate Holders:

  1. PEPT Certification: Holders of the Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT) certificate, which is an alternative to a high school diploma, may be admitted to the University as new freshmen.
  2. UPCAT: PEPT certificate holders must also pass the UPCAT to be considered for admission.

Admission Requirements for International Students:

Applicants who graduated from high schools abroad and have not enrolled in college may be admitted as beginning freshmen into non-quota programs without taking the UPCAT; provided that they meet the following requirements:

1. Completion of the high school program in the country where they had their secondary education;
2. Qualify in an equivalent college-qualifying national or international foreignadministered examination such as the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Examination or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or equivalent examination:

University of the Philippines Manila Scholarship

REP. JUAN EDGARDO M. ANGARA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Qualifications:

1. Must have been admitted in any undergraduate degree program of the University, or if already enrolled, must have passed all courses enrolled in the previous semester;
2. Must be resident of the Lone District of Aurora Province or as nominated by the Donor,; and,
3. Must comply with Rules for Scholarship and Fellowships of the Donor.

Benefits:

1. Php 19,000.00 total tuition fee, laboratory and miscellaneous fees of the UP Campus where the students is enrolled in. in case the scholarship grantee is also a recipient of the University of the Philippines Socialized Tuition and Financial Assistance Program (STFAP), the University shall only release to the grantee the balance of the tuition fee that the grantee is required to pay;
2. Php 5,000.00 semestral book allowance; and
3. Php 3,000.00 monthly living allowance (with a maximum of Php 15,000.00 per semester)
