Admission Requirements:

Eligibility

  • A student completing or who has completed a 12-Year Primary/Secondary School program
  • A student attending or who has attended another accredited University or institution, studying a topic other than Nursing.
  • A student who currently holds a diploma in Nursing which is not recognized by the University of Calgary.

Requirements

Direct admission to the Bachelor of Nursing, Regular Track is competitive and requires the completion of the following Grade 12 courses:

  • English, Math, Biology*, Chemistry, One Option Course
  • Based on Qatari curriculum, Biology course must be advanced.
  • English Language Proficiency (see link below) / The ability to attend classes during the day.

Applicants to the University of Calgary in Qatar are held to the same standard of education as applicants to the University of Calgary in Canada. In order to be successful, students must meet a level of English Language Proficiency to understand new vocabulary, advanced techniques and research.

Students are required to submit proof of English Language Proficiency by presenting official IELTS or TOEFL results prior to the application deadline.

Students who do not meet the English Language Proficiency requirement for direct entry to our Bachelor of Nursing programs will be considered for entry to our Foundation Program.

    • The Writing Supplement Essay will give us a sense of who you are as a person, beyond your grades and test scores. The statement also demonstrates your ability to organize thoughts and express yourself.
    • Please note that while the Writing Supplement Essay is required, there is also an essay in the common part of the Common Application. This essay is optional for applicants to CMU-Q.

Qatar Foundation’s Merit Scholarship program awards a limited number of Merit Scholarships annually to students who have spent at least two semesters in one of the Education City’s branch campuses. Students who have achieved a 3.6 GPA or above during their studies in Education City are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
