Universidad Politécnica de El Salvador

UPES was founded on February 8, 1979 by forty professionals. In its early years, the university was sponsored by the Association of Professionals in Technology, Variable Capital Stock Company ( APTESA ), until it became self-financing.

In the month of March 1979, the Polytechnic University began its academic work with the careers of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Agroindustrial Engineering, all of which belonged to the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture; Over time, the careers of Agronomic Engineering, Computer Science Engineering and Computer Systems Technician were incorporated into this Faculty. Later, in February 1983, the University founded the Faculty of Economic Sciences, offering Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Bachelor’s in Economics, Bachelor’s in Public Accounting, Bachelor’s in Marketing, and Marketing Technician.

Requirements for New Income Students

  • Recent original birth certificate (last 3 months).
  • Recent photograph, passport size
  • Original Bachelor’s degree and copy
  • Copy of the DUI expanded to 150 percent
  • Photocopy of PAES test result
  • Download Application for Admission (Print on a single page)
  • Download Commitment Letter (This document is necessary for students who owe any document in their file).

Requirements for students by equivalencies

  • Recent original birth certificate (last 3 months).
  • Recent photograph, passport size.
  • Original Bachelor’s degree and copy.
  • Copy of the DUI enlarged to 150 percent.
  • Original notes certification. (If you do not have it, you will fill out an affidavit in order to be received, but you must submit the certification of grades within the next 30 days of registration).
  • Download Commitment Letter (This document is necessary for students who owe any document in their file).

Equivalence Admission students may choose to receive a subject in a complementary cycle (Intercycle) by paying the corresponding Fee according to the subjects they enroll.

Steps to follow in the registration process

  1. Pay tuition and first installment at Banco Davivienda and G&T Continental.
  2. Pick up the registration sheet and schedule matrix
  3. Take a photo for the license
  4. Check schedules
    1. In the schedule matrix, you will write down for your own control the
      subjects with their section, schedule and classroom.
    2. The advisory sheet must be completed with your data at the
      bottom and you must write down the sections in which you intend to take your
      subjects, considering that it is not permissible to take subjects with
      conflicting schedules.
  5. Receive advice from your career coordinator
  6. Register subjects
  7. Pick up your bills, checkbook and card
