The Rómulo Gallegos National Experimental University (UNERG), is a Venezuelan University, today it enters the ranking of the most prestigious universities in the country, it is located in San Juan de los Morros, Guárico state. Founded in 1977, it is the main institution of higher education in the Venezuelan central plains. In turn, it was the eighth experimental university in the republic. It has its own newspaper (UNERG press) and its own station (Radio UNERG 92.7 FM).
This is characterized by the constant exercise of its functions, being one of the few universities that continues to operate in national academic strikes despite academic strikes in the country.
For the year 2011, throughout its academic chronology this Alma Mater would have graduated more than 50 thousand professionals (trained in ten areas of knowledge and 15 training programs) with a deep inclination towards social service, since the students start their chosen career, charity work becomes just another subject
In 1975, the Feasibility Commission for the creation of a University in the Guárico State in Venezuela was created.
