Najran University Admission Requirements

Undergraduate (Bachelor) Degree Admission Requirements:

Admission Requirements for Bachelor and Diploma

1. The student shall only be admitted to the University upon the calculation of his/her average as follows: 30% general aptitude, 30% achievement test and 40% general secondary (academic) if the student wishes to enroll in preparatory year. For all the other specializations, the average shall be calculated as follows: 30% aptitude and 70% general secondary.
2. The student should have obtained the general secondary certificate or its equivalent from the Kingdom or abroad.
3. No more than two academic years should have elapsed from the date of his/her obtaining such certificate or its equivalent.
4. The student should have a good conduct and proper behavior.
5. The student should successfully pass any exam or personal interview (if found).
6. The student should be medically fit.
7. The student should obtain approval from his authority to pursue his/her studies, if s/he works for any governmental or private body.
8. The student should not have been expelled from Najran University or any other university for academic or disciplinary reasons.
9. After the student is admitted, if it is turns out that s/he has already been expelled for disciplinary or academic reasons, his/her admission shall be considered as void.
10. The student meeting the requirements should present the documents stipulated by the Deanship of Admission and Registration at the University.
11. The student should not be enrolled for another university degree at the same university or at another university and should not have already obtained such degree.
12. Files of students who are late for admission tests (if found) shall be ruled out.
13. Files of students who are late for personal interviews (if found) and do not present an acceptable excuse shall be ruled out.
14. Students who are late in carrying out the admission procedures within the deadline set by the University and who do not present an excuse acceptable by the Deanship of Admission and Registration shall have their admission cancelled.

The admission requirements for freshmen:

1. The applicant must hold a Saudi nationality or be born of a Saudi mother.
2. The student should hold a general Saudi secondary school (high school) certificate or its equivalent from within Saudi Arabia or from other countries.
3. He/she should have obtained the secondary school certificate in a period of less than 5 years prior to the date of application; and the Rector has the authority to exclude in case of convincing reasons.
4. He/she should pass any aptitude exam or interview.
5. He/she must have a record of good reputation and behavior.
6. Being physically fit.
7. He/she must obtain the approval of his/her employer in case of being employee in government or private agency.
8. He/she should satisfy other conditions stipulated and announced by the NU Board at the time of application.
9. The applicant isn’t holder of a bachelor degree from another university. 
10. The student should not have been dismissed from any other university for disciplinary or academic reasons.

Najran University Scholarship Requirements

Admission requirements for Saudi students are applied to external sponsored students except for (General Aptitude Test and Achievement Test):

1.  Applicant’s minimum age is 17 years old and he/she doesn’t exceed 25 years old.
2. The applicant didn’t get a scholarship from any other academic institution in the kingdom.
3. The applicant must authenticate his/her credentials from competent bodies, Saudi embassy and Saudi Attaché in his/her homeland.
4. The applicant must issue a certificate of no criminal record from security departments in his/her homeland.
5. The applicant wasn’t disqualified from any other academic institutions in the kingdom.
6. The applicant can be admitted to all academic majors except for health majors.
7. The applicant cannot change his/her academic major after being admitted to particular major.
8. The female student must not travel without a Mahram.
9. The applicant should pass the medical examination conducted by the University.
10. The government of the applicant’s country must give approval letter for studying in KSA – this condition for countries that apply this requirement to the Saudi students.
11. The applicant should be fluent in speaking and writing of Arabic Language.
