Lebanese-French University of Technology and Applied Sciences

Within the framework of the traditional links between France and Lebanon, a multidisciplinary team of Franco-Lebanese academics has been formed around the Francophone Association for the Development of Higher Education (AFDES), a non-profit association, non-denominational and secular, whose head office is located in Lyon.

The studies conducted in conjunction with Lebanese officials from the public and private sectors have shown the significant needs of the labor market in higher technological training at university level. These courses prepare students to support current economic and technological changes.

In this spirit, the AFDES has decided to concretize its action by the creation in Lebanon – North of a university center for teaching and applied research, using innovative teaching methods and taking advantage of the experiences of the developed systems of teaching. technological superior. The center acquired the approval of the Lebanese State by decree number 9278 of October 5, 1996, under the name of “University Center of Technology” of Tripoli, Lebanon – North (CUT).

The establishment opened its doors on the Deddeh site on October 30, 1997, in an environment conducive to university activities and easily accessible from all regions of North Lebanon.

By decree 851 of November 30, 2007, the CUT is transformed into a Lebanese-French University of Technology and Applied Sciences. This transformation is an extension of the teachings of the CUT but has allowed a broader diversification of training.
