Institut supérieur de philosophie et des sciences humaines Don Bosco (ISPSH)

Founded in 1986 on the initiative of the Iberian Conference (Spain and Portugal), the ISPSH is part of the works of Don Bosco House. It is a Christian-inspired institution (Catholic). The ISPSH is a community committed to the development of the student, the cultural and scientific heritage through research, teaching and service to society. Since February 08, 1998, the ISDB  has obtained the authorization for probationary opening by decree n° 020/MENR of the Ministry of National Education and Research. On June 10, 1999, the ISPSH obtained the authorization to open definitively by decree n°096/MENR/SG of the Ministry of National Education and Research.

The Institute was then a denominational institution of higher education of a public nature. It is an institute of higher education of Christian inspiration, of Catholic character and with the Salesian approach. As such, it is intended as a higher education and research institution with the character of a Catholic university. The center provides general training in philosophy and social sciences to obtain licenses in philosophy and education sciences. The objective of the ISPSH: to help young people achieve a cultural, intellectual and religious synthesis that meets the academic requirements in Africa, with a humanist, ethical and spiritual aim.

Intended for general formation in philosophy and social sciences , the ISDB Don Bosco is open to Salesians from West Africa and Tropical-Equatorial Africa as well as other religious congregations and lay people. The ISDB adopted the LMD ( Bachelor – Master – Doctorate ) system in 2007 [ 2 ] and some of its degrees are recognized by the African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES). The ISDB offers its students a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and a bachelor’s degree in education sciences as well as a research master’s degree in philosophy and a professional master’s degree in education sciences

Registration is open to anyone holding a baccalaureate (for the License) or a license (for the Master) or any other strictly equivalent diploma. Students from other recognized higher education establishments may apply for recognition of Teaching Units to obtain the transfer of credits for validated Teaching Units.
