Fiji National University Admission Requirements

1. As an applicant to a new programme, where can I apply?

New applicants and continuing students applying into a new programme can apply through the online admission portal.

Open FNU_homepage .
Click MY FNU → My Student → Academic Services → Apply Here → Apply Online
Create an Account using your email address as your username and a password that you will remember later. (Note your username and password)
Create an Application and submit it.
You are required to upload documents after you have created your application.

2. As an applicant, how do I check the status of my application?

Open FNU homepage.
Click MY FNU → My Student → Academic Services → Apply Here → Apply Online
Login to your account by entering the same username and password that you had used to create your account initially.
You will find the status of your application status on the account.
The different possible statuses that you will be able to see for your application are: Started – This is when you have started your application but have not submitted it. Action Required – This is when you have created your application and submitted it but you did not upload the required documents.

Submitted – This is when both your application and documents have been submitted. Completed – This is when your application has been verified by FNU and has been marked complete for processing.

Accepted – This is when your application has been accepted by FNU and an offer letter is also sent to you on your email.

Denied – This is when your application has been rejected is marked as unsuccessful.

Fiji National University Scholarship

Student Financial Aid Scheme

To promote the advancement of tertiary level education in Fiji, the FNU Council has decided to establish a Student Financial Aid Scheme (SFAS) to enable the recruitment of quality performing students, to promote and reward academic excellence, and to allow students who are financially needy but academically deserving to gain access to higher education.

STUDENT WORKER SCHEME

This Fiji National University initiative aims to:

Provide assistance to academically deserving students from marginalised families that require assistance.
Help students owing fees to the University with a work scheme that will allow them to clear the arrears.
Such students will, in the process, also acquire skills at minimal hours of work (20 hours weekly).
The fee-reduction is then calculated from their hours of supervised work within FNU and deducted from fees owing to the University.

To qualify for this Student Worker Scheme, students will have to lodge an application before the closing date.

1. Accommodation Fee for Students

Fiji National University Accommodation options for international students are:

Hostel Fees: $2,000 – $3,000 per year. (US Dollar).
Rental apartment: Fiji ($2,000 – $3,000 per year in US Dollars)
University dormitory: Foreign students have the opportunity to live in the dormitories of the university if they are in satisfactory conditions.

2. Cost of Living in Fiji

A single person estimated monthly costs are 1,189.49FJ$ without rent.
Monthly transportation fee for single person: 100 – 500FJ$ (Fijian Dollar).
