Further Education and Training (FET) Colleges are now referred to as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges, this is due to an amendment made to Section 26 of the FET Amendment Act, 2013 (Act No. 1 of 2013). The concept of TVET has been introduced into the South African Education and Training sector as part of a drive to provide high-quality education and training that offers a wide range of learning options.

The College has a special focus on apprenticeship training in the following trades: Electrical, Motor Mechanics, Welding and Fabrication, Fitting and Turning, Automotive Body Repair, Spray-Painting, Masonry, Plumbing, and Carpentry and Joinery. Courses are also offered in Business Management, Information and Communication Technology, Hospitality, Engineering, Tourism, Yacht and Boat Building, Safety in Society, Animation and Education Studies.

  • To incentivize students to pay timeously, certain discounts apply to tuition fees, which is applicable to all programme delivery modes:

DISCOUNTS

       a NC(V) / NATED Discounts to private Students registering forthe full complement   of subjects. (Only applicable to programmes of a trimester or longer)  NC(V) COURSES  11 20% discount will be granted if paid in full by    31 January 2 7.5% discount is available on all NC(V) courses settled in full   by 31 May NATED COURSES N4 – N6 13 20% discount will be granted if class fees are paid in full on or before the end of the month in which the classes commence as published in the official DHET calendar. NATED COURSES N1 – N3 14 20% discount will be granted if class fees are paid in full on   or before the end of the month in which the classes commence as published in the official DHET calendar

False Bay College South Africa Admission

All Applicants must accept the Personal Information Consent Form as part of your application process.

1. All new applicants must complete the Career Guidance Questionnaire before applying. We will not process your applications without the Career Guidance Questionnaire. 

2. Click the Apply Now tab to Complete the Online Application Form and submit your supporting documents.

3. Completed application forms with the following documents will be considered.

  • Birth Certificate/Identity Document (Proof of application for new ID/Passport).
  • Most recent Academic results.
  • Certificates/Qualifications.
  • Municipal billing document/other account statement.

The applicant will be notified via email and SMS once successfully completing the 3 steps of the application process.

SELECTION OF APPLICANTS

• The College Selection Committee will at predetermined dates evaluate all applications received up to that point; based on the College admission policy and applicant’s academic results.

• Successful applicants will receive notification by means of an offer letter.

• The offer letter can be accessed via the Application Portal and must be accepted on the Application Portal.

• Offer letters will expire within 5 days from date of issue.

ADMISSION PROCESS

• Once applicants have accepted the offer letter, they will be issued with an addendum which needs to be completed and uploaded together with either proof of payment or bursary office approval notice via the Application Portal.

• On acceptance of offer letter, the Bursary Office will contact the applicants who indicated in their application that they are applying for a bursary. The Bursary Office will explain the process to be followed and documents required.

• These documents will be checked and verified by the relevant campus after which admission will be approved.

• Students will receive a notification that admission has been approved. This notice will also contain their student number and password to access the Student Portal.

• The Student Portal will enable the student to access academic, financial and biographical information.
