About the university:
The Belarusian State University of Physical Culture grew out of a small physical education technical school, which in 1929 had several dozen students. In 1937, after the triumphant performance of the students of the technical school at the All-Union parade in Moscow, by the decision of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR for the training of qualified physical education personnel and high sports and physical education achievements, the Belarusian College of Physical Education was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and reorganized into the Institute of Physical Education of the BSSR.
In 1993 it was transformed into the Academy of Physical Education and Sports of the Republic of Belarus. The university received its current name in 2003.
Today BSUPC is the only specialized institution of higher education in the country that trains specialists in the field of physical culture, sports and tourism.
The university is a modern educational and research center with a rich history and traditions. International scientific and practical conferences and seminars are held on its basis.
