Arab East Colleges Admission Requirements

Arab East Colleges Required Documents:

The following documents must be submitted when applying to the Colleges:

  • Admission application online through the SIS.
  • Copy of the National ID card or Family card for Saudis, a copy of Iqama for non Saudis.
  • High school diploma / Copy of GAT and SAAT test results.
  • Receipt of registration fee payment.
  • Passport size photograph.

Arab East Colleges Admission Process:

Academic departments are responsible for application review and applicant admittance in coordination with Admissions department. The Admission process is as follows:

  1. Applicants submit a complete application to the Admissions department at the start of the second week up to the end of the fifth week of the semester that precedes the start of the program.
  2. Admissions department forwards applications to the appropriate Academic department no later than the end of the sixth week of the semester that precedes the start of the program.
  3. Academic department boards tasked with reviewing applications give their recommendations no later than the tenth week of the semester that precedes the start of the program. The applications are returned to the Admissions department within two weeks of the boards recommendation.
  4. The Dean of the College issues final acceptance decisions.

Arab East Colleges Transferring to the Colleges:

A student may transfer to the Colleges from a recognized university or college based of the recommendation of the academic department’s board and approval of the College board, taking into account the following:

  • Previous credits have been completed at an accredited institution.
  • A transferred course must be equivalent to the course taught at Arab East Colleges.
  • Total number of transferred credits must not exceed 30% of total credits of desired program.
  • Transferred credits must have been completed within the past five years at the most.
  • Transferred credits must have been passed with a grade of “C” at least.
  • Transferred credits will not be considered when calculating the student’s GPA after transfers.
  • Regulation period for bachelor program completion for students who have completed programs at a level lower than bachelors shall be calculated according to credits accepted by Arab East colleges in accordance with article 44.

Admission Requirements for Master’s (Graduate) Degree Programs:

  • Copy of the National ID card or Family card for Saudis, a copy of Iqama for non Saudis.
  • Copy of bachelor degree certificate and transcript.
  • Receipt of registration fee payment.

  • Passport size photograph.

Before admission is finalized, the applicant must present the original of each of the previously mentioned document to the admissions department for verification.

    • Transferred credits must have been completed within the past three semesters at the most.
    • Transferred credits must correspond with credits in the desired program.
    • Total number of transferred credits must not exceed 30% of total credits of desired program.
    • Transferred credits must have been passed with a grade of “B” at least.
    • Transferred credits will not be considered when calculating the student’s GPA after transfers.
    • Transfer credits equivalence is done based on the recommendation of the academic department’s board the approval of the College board.

Arab East Colleges Study method at the Colleges

Study towards a Masters degree is achieved through two methods:

  1. Through courses and thesis.
  2. In programs of practical nature it is done through courses and a research project that accounts for at least three credits.
  • The academic year is divided into two main semesters that are 15 weeks long at least. Registration and examination periods are not considered in a semesters timeline.
  • Study in some programs may span a full academic year in accordance with rules and regulations put forth by the Colleges board.

A student graduates after completing all degree requirements and achieving a GPA of at least “B”.

Arab East Colleges Scholarship Requirements

Number of scholarships offered: 12 scholarship opportunities in all of the Colleges’ programs, With one scholarship for each program.

Scholarship Applicant’s guidelines:

  • Saudi national.
  • Holds a bachelor degree with GPA of “Excellent” from an accredited university achieved through full time study.
  • At least two years of professional experience in field of bachelor studies.
  • Compliance with all of the Colleges’ admission guidelines.
  • Priority for applicants that will study full time.

Scholarship Required Documents:

Along with all admission required documents, an applicant is required to provide:

  • Two academic recommendation letters.
  • A recommendation letter from a superior at the applicant’s place of work for employees, or from a recognized figure in the applicant’s industry for non-employees.

Scholarship Application and approval process:

  • Applicants submit a complete application to the Admissions department at the start of the second week up to the end of the fifth week of the semester that precedes the start of the program.
  • The Colleges’ Scholarship Committee studies all applications and produces a short list of potential candidates.
  • Candidates are interviewed by a committee from the appropriate academic department. Results of the interviews are submitted to the Colleges’ Scholarship Committee.
  • Approved candidates are notified of their admission into the the Colleges.

Guidelines for maintaining the scholarship:

  • Maintaining a GPA of “Excellent” during study in the program.
  • Scholarship recipients are not permitted to transfer to another department or college.
  • The scholarship is revoked if any disciplinary decision is issued to the student regardless of the disciplinary offense committed.
  • The scholarship is revoked if the student’s attendance drops below the minimum attendance level stipulated in the list of students affairs at the Colleges.
  • The College reserves the right to revoke a scholarship based on any reason it deems acceptable.
