An-Najah National University

An-Najah National University is a vibrant hub of learning which nourishes science, knowledge and understanding. An-Najah offers undergraduate instruction in the fields of Medicine, Engineering, Humanities, Social Sciences and the Natural Sciences, as well as numerous courses of graduate study in the humanities and the social sciences.

Since it was chartered as a full-fledged university in 1977, An-Najah has promoted the acquisition of modern knowledge whilst remaining committed to the transmission and preservation of Palestinian history, heritage and culture. Today, as the largest University in Palestine, An-Najah educates over 23,000 students and is home to 11 faculties, offering numerous undergraduate and graduate specialisations.

Admission requirements for postgraduate programs

• Students applying for various master’s programs are accepted at the College of Graduate Studies, provided that the student’s cumulative average in the bachelor’s degree is good or above, in addition to taking an abilities test and a personal interview .
• In the event that the GPA is less than good, its acceptance shall be conditional and according to the undertaking .
• As for admission to the Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine program, the cumulative GPA is acceptable, and the student is subject to an aptitude test .
• For admission to doctoral programs, it is required that the average of the master’s degree be very good, and the study should be done regularly

Required documents

• Fill out the enrollment application form .
• The original transcript or a true copy certified by the university of graduation and the responsible authorities according to the rules .
• The original attestation or a true copy certified by the university of graduation and the relevant authorities responsible according to the rules .
• An original birth certificate or a true copy certified by the concerned authorities .
• Transcript of high school grades, an original or a true copy of the concerned authorities .
• Two letters of recommendation from professors or officials in the current work .
• A personal photo and a copy of personal identification .
• Receipt of the application fee . 

Notes :

• Documents submitted are non-refundable .
• An application form can be obtained from the Deanship of Admission and Registration / the old university campus, in exchange for an application fee of (50) Jordanian dinars . 
• The numbers of accepted students are announced in the local newspapers, and on the college’s electronic advertisements page .
• For students who require remedial courses, their acceptance is conditional on completing these courses in the first semester of their enrollment in the program, or the second semester as a maximum. Otherwise, the student loses his academic seat .
• Applications are received attached with the required documents to the Deanship of Admission and Registration / the old university campus

Bachelor’s degree

Students applying to the university are accepted competitively according to the student’s average in high school, and the student’s average in high school must be not less than the minimum set by the Ministry of Education, and that the number of students accepted each year is recommended by the Deans Council, and it is approved By the Board of Trustees, taking into account the needs of the labor market in Palestine and the sisterly Arab countries, in order to raise the cultural, technical and professional level.

general concepts

• Regular study (competitive): The rate of each major offered by the university is determined based on the number of applicants for initial admission applications for that major and the vacancies in each major. Therefore, the competitive rate changes every year and is not fixed.
• Special (parallel) study: It is the minimum for all disciplines at the university, and it is fixed and unchanging
• Prescription: that no more than five years have passed since obtaining a high school diploma for all faculties except for the Faculty of Fine Arts.

Note: The  Jordanian Tawjihi is treated as the Palestinian Tawjihi

The student who has the International General Secondary Certificate must bring the equivalency of the certificate from the Ministry of Education so that the average is calculated at the university and according to the system.

Registration requirements:

• A high school diploma duly certified.
• Certificate equivalency from higher education.
• An original birth certificate or a certified copy.
• ID photo.
