Al-Aqsa University

Al-Aqsa University is a government institution that is scientifically and academically independent, supervised by an independent board of trustees, who decides on its policies and assumes its responsibilities. According to the Higher Education Law No. (6) of 2018 and the regulations issued under it by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the university aims to spread knowledge, deepen its roots, and serve and develop Palestinian society within the framework of a philosophy based on national concepts and the heritage of Arab and Islamic civilization.

 Al-Aqsa University began in 1955 as an institute for teachers under the administration of the Egyptian government, and the goal at that time was to prepare and qualify teachers. It also had a prominent role in graduating a number of master’s and doctoral degree holders through the joint graduate program with Ain Shams University, and with the beginning of the academic year (2000). /2001 AD) The college was transferred to Al-Aqsa University, which is run by an advisory board consisting of (11) members.

Al-Aqsa University Admission

First: Acceptance of students within the regular programs:

Students with a high school diploma:

  • The secondary school year should be 2021 – 2020 – 2019 – 2018 –  2017
  • The high school average should be 65 % or above.
  • Student admission is subject to the admission key.

Students transferred from other universities or colleges:

  • The student’s average in high school should be 65 % or above.
  • The secondary school year should be 2021 – 2020 – 2019 – 2018  2017_
  • The completion hours shall be 24 hours or more.
  • The student must have a cumulative average of 70 % or above.
  • The student should not be dismissed from the university or college from which he is transferred due to a disciplinary penalty.
  • The student must not have been absent from studies for a period of more than four semesters.
  • The student must fulfill all requirements for admission to Al-Aqsa University.
  • Student admission is subject to the admission key .
  • An external equivalency is carried out with a maximum of 50% of the study plan of the program accepted by the student, provided that the student’s grade in the equivalent course is not less than 70%.
  • Equivalent courses are not included in the cumulative average and are counted within the hours of completion.

Students holding a diploma (transfer):

  • The high school average should be 65 % or above.
  • The diploma must be issued by a recognized institute or college.
  • The diploma average should be  70 % or above.
  • No more than ( 5 ) years have passed since the diploma ( 2016 or above)
  • Student admission is subject to coordination key.
  • An equivalency is made to reveal the diploma degrees, not exceeding 30 % of the total number of hours of the bachelor’s specialization for which the student has been accepted.
  • The equivalent course grade shall not be less than 70 % .
  • The student’s equivalency is based on two grades.
  • Equivalent courses are not included in the cumulative average and are counted within the hours of completion.

Students who hold a diploma (bridging):

  • No more than ( 5 ) years have passed since the applicant obtained the diploma ( 2016 or above ).
  • The diploma average should be 60 % or more.
  • The overall average should be 60 %   or more.
  • The student must fulfill one of the following two conditions:
  1. The student must submit an approved experience certificate for at least one year after graduation in the field of specialization.
  2. If the experience condition cannot be met, the student will be given remedial courses at the university related to the specialization as deemed appropriate by the university, provided that he achieves in these courses a mark of ( 70 % ) or higher.
  • The student studies a specialization corresponding to his specialization in the diploma.
  • An equivalency is carried out to reveal the diploma degrees, not exceeding 30 % of the total number of hours of the bachelor’s specialization for which the student has been accepted.
  • The equivalent course grade shall not be less than 70 % .
  • Equivalent courses are not included in the cumulative average and are counted within the hours of completion.

Students holding a bachelor’s degree:

  • The high school average should be 65 % or above.
  • The bachelor’s rate should be  70 % or above.
  • No more than ( 5 ) years have passed since the applicant obtained a bachelor’s degree ( 2016 or above ).
  • Student admission is subject to coordination key.
  • For a student who has obtained a bachelor’s degree from Al-Aqsa University, it is equivalent to a maximum of 65 % of the study plan for the accepted department. The equivalent courses are included in the achievement and the cumulative average for the new major. It is equivalent to the student who has obtained a bachelor’s degree from another university with a maximum of 50 % of the study plan for the accepted department, provided that the degree is not less than The equivalent course is less than 70 %. Equivalent courses in the new specialization are not included in the achievement and the cumulative average .
  • The student’s equivalency is based on two grades.

Students holding a bachelor’s degree and wishing to study an educational qualification diploma:

  • To have a bachelor’s degree.
  • The student benefits from the equivalency of educational courses studied outside the university with a maximum of ( 6 credit hours) only, with a grade of 70% or above.
